Socks for Children in Common

Children in Common is an organization that provides clothing and other necessities to children living in the grim conditions of Russian orphanages. When I made these socks, I had virtually no stash, so I accepted an offer of donated yarn made on the Socknitters e-mail list.

The orange pair was knit from a natural colored yarn--perhaps handspun? I dyed the finished socks using orange kool-aid.

The pink socks are an alpaca blend, and were incredibly soft.

A third pair were charcoal grey with red stripes, but that photo seems to be eluding me...
