Opal Hat & Baby Surprise

Here's a newborn set I made for a baby shower. The hat is made from what was leftover after knitting a pair of socks from Opal. It's a pretty basic roll brim cap, but I purled the striping portions of the yarn, and at the brim, I knit a few rows (7?) of stockinette, then did double rib for 3/4" or so to control the roll.

The jacket is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sport in Nearly Solid Cranberry.
